IMPORTANT PRINCIPLES
Before going further it is important to address two important issues. That of Adult Learning and Portfolios of Evidence.

We believe in the principles of adult learning. Here are some of the key principles of adult learning that we have tried to base My EQ on.
1. Adult learning is self-directed/autonomous
My EQ is entirely your own journey, self - paced and dependent on what you put into it.
2. Adult learning utilizes knowledge & life experiences
My EQ provides you with a wealth of knowledge and real life experiences that we have had with EQ. It also offers you the opportunity to broaden your own life experiences through the tools, processes and resources it provides you with.
3. Adult learning is goal-oriented
My EQ is goal - orientated because it provides you with specific recommendations to carry out and milestones and checkpoints to accomplish.
4. Adult learning is relevancy-oriented
My EQ is relevancy - orientated because it is tailored to your specific development needs based on your unique profile.
5. Adult learning highlights practicality
Great effort has been taken to make My EQ a practical self - development journey through the myriad of practical activities you are asked to complete, from the preparation modules through to the 3 journeys.
6. Adult learning encourages collaboration
You have the opportunity to discuss your My EQ journey with other individuals who can help you along your growth path, such as peers, mentors or coaches.
Portfolios of Evidence

My EQ embraces the principles outlined above. In addition we believe that the privacy of the information generated in your leadership journey should be respected and that your information should be shared on a voluntary basis. At the same time we also recognise that employers may have a need to see how you are progressing along your individual My EQ journey. It is also possible that your employer agreed to covering the costs of your My EQ journey on the basis that you will provide them with some type of feedback on the progress that you have made. You can do this in the following ways:
You will find a Milestone and Checkpoint section at the end of each module which asks a number of non - invasive questions to determine your progress through these modules. Should you elect to complete and submit the Milestones section at the end of each module, we will keep your responses on record and forward them to your employers should they request feedback. On the other hand, if you do not wish to provide your employer with feedback on your progress then you should not complete the Milestone's sections at the end of each module.
At the end of each Journey you will also find a portfolio of evidence section. Please complete this if you agree to us providing your employer with feedback on your progress. If you do not wish your employer to have feedback on your progress then leave this section out.
We feel confident though that the feedback you have the opportunity to provide your employer is non - invasive and strikes a good balance between respecting your privacy and addressing your employers' need for feedback. We encourage you to complete the milestones and portfolio sections at the end of each of the 3 modules and journeys.
