If you plan to do the Shallow Dive, you will be working with The Competency Style Report. The Competency Styles report is a personality based development tool designed to help you to understand how your personality is likely to shape your behavior in four key areas:
- Planning and Organising
- Problem Solving
- Leading by Supporting
- Leading by Influencing
Included in this pack are four reports, one on each of the 4 key areas listed above. The Competency Style Report will help you in 3 ways as a leader.
- It will make you aware of how your personality impacts, both positively and negatively on your execution of these 4 competencies.
- It will provide you with coaching suggestions that will help you to address development areas.
- It will provide you with a range of questions which will help you to offset counterproductive impacts of your personality on these competencies.
We suggest that you use the reports in the following way:
- Choose one competency to work on at a time and stay with it until you have established new habits, before moving onto the next competency.
- Log - in to your report daily. This will help raise your awareness, deepen your self - insight and also help you to establish new habits.
We also encourage you to work through Module 1 of the Deep Dive. This module will help you to see the link between deeply ingrained behaviors and attitudes (which is what personality is) and organisational performance; and also provide you with a good framework for self development.
